COMMUNITY TRAINING INSTITUTE |
| One of CETENAGROUP’s most exciting and successful educational initiatives is the Community Training Institute (CTI). |
| Established in 2008, CTI spans all thirty-four provinces and employs over 370 local teachers in different communities, teaching directly to over 10,000 men and women aged 15 years and upwards. |
| The curriculum embraces essentials such as basic reading, writing and math in a country recognized as having one of the lowest literacy rates. It achieves tangible outcomes where attendees are now able to fill out forms and write their signature, count money, recognize warnings on medicine bottles, read the time and do simple weights and measures; skills that are of assistance to farmers, laborers, street vendors and mothers. |
| Health and financial issues, the environment, human rights, agriculture and social skills are also part of the curriculum. Evidence that the program hits its mark is over half of our students are female, while 58% of males are over 35 years. |
